Southampton Mencap is a voluntary organisation based in Portswood, Southampton for children, young people and adults with a learning disability and their family carers. We work to raise awareness to their rights, alongside the direct provision of a range of services. We also take great pride in remaining small, local and strong. Alongside this we place a strong focus on working with other local agencies and the Local Authority to jointly improve the services available to our client group.

Are you an early riser with some time available which can be put to good use? If so we’re looking for an experienced driver for early morning pick-ups on the West of the City. This is a paid role and we will need you Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday starting from the Mencap Centre in Portswood at 8.30am and finishing back there by 10am. You will drive the Mencap car, a 7 seater Ford Galaxy, accompanied by an escort on every journey. It’s an advantage if you are comfortable in the company of people with a learning disability. To satisfy our insurance arrangements you should be aged 21-70.
