Young People's Opening Doors (yPod) Service
The yPod service is a joint initiative between Aiming High and the Early
Year's Development and Childcare Partnership. Southampton Mencap manages the
service, with the key objective of providing relevant support so that the
children with disabilites or additional needs have the opportunity to access
local play, extended school or registered after school activities during
term time. In addition, during school holidays children are supported to
participate in local play or registered care schemes.
The Service offers:
- Appropriate support for children aged 4-18 to access their local After School Club, Registered Care Setting, Extended School Activities, Brownies, Cubs, Youth Clubs, Dance Groups, Art Clubs, Open Access Play Schemes or any other group activities.
