We continue to welcome all family carers to our monthly Carers Lunch and Talk. Meetings have now moved to the Victory Church in Portswood (opposite the Post Office) and are organised jointly with our Carers in Southampton Service to provide relevant and interesting information from a range of guest speakers. Meetings are held on a Wednesday between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and dates will always be posted on both websites in advance. The catering for these events is provided through ‘Café Down the Lane’, an initiative teaching people with learning disabilities practical catering and customer service skills.
Dates to the end of the year are as follows:
19th September – tEC: Information about the service that offers help with energy efficiency, cleaner air and reducing heating costs
17th October – Steps2Wellbeing: Information about this free counselling service
14th November – Southampton Sight: Information about resources for any level of sight impairment
12th December – Red Cross: General advice and introduction to basic first aid skills
