Volunteers
- It's rewarding
- It's challenging
- It enables you to use and develop your skills and talents.
Volunteers are extremely important to us, and enhance the activities of the organisation. Southampton Mencap has been fortunate in attracting a constant flow of people throughout the year, and we benefit enormously from their skills and enthusiasm. We will offer a good package of support to encourage people to remain committed to the work of the organisation for as long as possible.
If you have some time to spare and are interested in volunteering with Southampton Mencap, please contact the Mencap Centre, and we will be happy to supply you with information on the opportunities available. This includes helping within clubs, fundraising, building or garden maintenance, or joining the Mencap Management team.
Volunteers are essential for our specific play projects, particularly during the school summer holidays when we run a number of summer activities for children and young people aged 5-19. Get in touch if you are interested in helping, or gaining valuable experience in play and working with disabled children.
