Volunteering Opportunity- Parent helpline volunteers needed

The Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service (part of Southampton Mencap) are looking for Volunteer Parent Helpline Workers.

The IAS Service helpline is for parents of children with additional needs (aged 0-25) who are having problems with their education. The role involves taking initial calls from parents and recording key information to pass on to one of our IAS Officers who will then provide detailed advice and support going forward. We are looking for someone with good communication skills and ideally some knowledge of special educational needs/disability. If you are looking for a rewarding and interesting volunteer role then this could be for you.
