Volunteering Opportunities at Southampton Wood Recycling

Southampton Wood Recycling is a social enterprise which helps the environment by saving waste wood. They collect waste wood from building sites etc. and as a not for profit social enterprise they rely on a dedicated team of volunteers who come from all walks of life – men and women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. They are on the lookout for more volunteers.

If you are aged 18 or over and would like to do some volunteering and get some work experience then this could be a great opportunity. Following their exciting move to new larger premises, SWR are looking for more volunteers to help with collecting, preparing and selling their wood. They work in a friendly atmosphere and people of all ages are always made welcome whatever their amount of experience. Travel expenses are paid and refreshments are provided. For those doing a full day, lunch is also paid for.

It doesn’t matter if someone can read or write but they can only take on volunteers who are able to follow instructions and work with others as they will need everyone to stay safe. They also need people who are fit enough to move wood around but no-one is ever asked to move more than they are able to.

If this sounds like a volunteering opportunity you would like to get involved with, please contact SWR on 02381 781720 or visit their website to find out more information: http://www.southamptonwoodrecycling.org.uk/
