This group meets on the last Saturday each month, between 1.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. There are up to 12 places available for young adults with learning disabilities aged 19+. Members are able to access a variety of community facilities from the Mencap Centre, through being supported to participate in social activities which maintain and develop their independence skills alongside their peer group. The scheme also enables family carers to have short breaks and some time out of their caring responsibilities at the weekends for other daily routines whilst the person they care for is being supported to participate in leisure activities of his/her choice.
